Beautiful 1948 pickup truck
Met this fellow whilst we were visiting. Runs a tour guide outfit, his name is River Pilot, yes that's him. He has just launched a Route 66 GPS based tour guide, that does a turn by turn of the entire Route 66, including all variations and alternate routes. Our Commander was more than impressed I can tell you. River also runs tours in Australia, even from our home town of Perth.. Check the lad out www.riverspilot.com
Not sure why these images loaded in reverse order, but the station is about 25 miles west of Springfield, just as you pass through Halltown
The station itself has been recreated as the original burnt down in 1955. The adjoining workshop is still the original as are the vehicles. I am not sure how long the guy under the car has been there though.
