Bryan D: A handful of shots from yesterday, day 13

A bad guy from the morning shootout

Another baddie

The mighty Colorado River. From camera position the river is about 5 miles away on the horizonatal and about one mile down on the vertical.

This is smoke from fires on the north rim, ignited by lightening strikes. The ranger said they are "managed" burns, the term "controlled" burns no longer being used. He could tell from my blank expression that I did not know the difference so he used this analogy: "You might be able to manage your kids, but that does not mean you necessarily control them." I understand perfectly.
