Day 6 Oklahoma City to Clinton - Bl**dy hot

We overnighted on the outskirts of Oklahoma City. The first thing today was to go see the National Cowboy and Western History Museum in the city.
The gradual movement West by Europeans was marked by the conflict with the native American Indian Tribes, many of whom occupied this Western and South Western part of the country. The museum is devoted to covering that history and of the cowboy.
Weather was a real stinker, was quite shocked to see the temp showing in centigrade as we road into one town today, well I'll never. It was 42 plus degrees, about 108 for those metrically challenged. The country is getting even flatter, the corn is slowly disappearing, and so are the trees. Trying to take more video but the concrete road gets the car wallowing, if you watch the video you will probably get sea sick. Just outside Reno we noticed debris in the fields, then a mass of twisted metal that had been collected into several dumping areas. We realised that this was the even bigger Tornado that ripped through this area about a week after Joplin was hit. As far as we know it was more intense then the Joplin, but its track was more forgiving by the looks. Over 500 people have lost their lives this season. Some fairly bumpy stretches today, but our commander tells us there is worse to come. Rode into Clinton about 4pm. Went to a Route 66 museum before ending the day.
