Kansas only enjoys 13.2 miles of Route 66, but claims it is that stretch that pulls it all together. Maybe they do because a beat up 1951 boom truck inspired the character of "Tow Tater" in the movie "Cars"
The truck sits outside the restored Kan-O-Tex service station on main street in the tiny town of Galena(yes the mined lead there) The four women bought and restored the service station and so lead to the rebirth of the town's stretch of Route 66. It was a big day for the "Kid" and the kids in all of us.
