Great old Bridge we crossed today, some facts below. Driving through Oklahoma we started to see the impact of the hot weather on the corn crops, Compared to Illinois the corn is half the height, looks in bad shape. It was 109 as we rolled into our final stop this afternoon,
Managed to meet Jerry McClanahan in Chandler today, such a nice guy. Its his guide that Bryan has drawn on to plan this trip. Got his monicker on our guidebooks, bought some prints and had a good chat. Jerry is a great artist as well as a fundi on everything the road means and is. Countless roadies have been guided faithfully along this road thanks to him and the many others who have taken it upon themselves to record, promote and cherish the road. Because the road is not the highway in itself its what it represents, it is the human experience of the millions who took to the road to seek something better for themselves, even if they never quite made it. Those journeys, by people are still happening today, all over this planet.
