Scouting for a coffee shop

In a desperate bid to find a good coffee shop near our hotel I stumbled onto the Federal Reserve building. They let you come in and stare at the money. The poster kind of sums it up. And yes go to Lavazza on Jackson, a block East of the Federal Reserve, they have real cups and spoons.

Horror Train trip over

As it turned out I only beat Bryan ("Tex") and Armando (The Kid") by about an hour or so

The Airbus A380 - Sydney

Chicago

Well looks like I got into Chicago ahead of the boys, so they're still out there somewhere. Quote of the day segment: Something for the lawyers, ad in the AA flight magazine,"It's not the size of your law firm that mattersIt's what you they put in their briefs"What I saw of the city, it's 11pm Thursday night, it looks a mighty fine city centre, an agreeable 70 degrees, explore tomorrow, after 30 hours on the flights better sleep

Unanticipated adventure 2

On buses again after 4 hour stay in Little Rock due to derailment up line.
We're heading for St Louis - late breaking news from The Texan. I might still beat them to Chicago

LA and OK

Just 12 hours to cross the Pacific, thanks to a 250km/hr tail wind out of Sydney. One thing about the A380 it's about twice as quiet as any other jet. Minor excitement coming in with the landing aborted, our fearless captain explaining the approach speed was too high, so another circuit for 20 minutes, spoilt the good time across that did. I am somewhat disappointed I didn't get channeled into the full body scanner, obviously don't look dodgy enough, or too dumb, or both.

Jonah inside the whale

The A380 seems to swallow people, and lots of them.I think it's named after Bert hinkler, the first aviator to fly from London to Australia, took 15 days, those grand days of travel, and I am worrying about an extra hour on this leg
